PROJECT SUPPORT: REVIT MODELING
Read | Thomas supported Revit modeling efforts for a healthcare campus in Charlotte, NC. The project introduced significant documentation challenges, including an accelerated schedule and the requirement for fully coordinated, construction-ready modeling at the completion of the Construction Documents phase.
The team developed a detailed, fully coordinated Revit model encompassing the complete building scope. This model served as a reliable foundation for construction, improving accuracy and reducing coordination risk in the field.
PROJECT SUPPORT: REVIT MODELING
A mixed-use project in the Historic River Arts District of Asheville North Carolina was supported through structured BIM implementation, including the development of project standards, model organization, and coordination protocols. These efforts ensured alignment across teams and established a reliable framework for project execution.
Our scope also included comprehensive building modeling and parametric content development to meet project-specific design and documentation needs. This approach resulted in a highly coordinated model environment, improving accuracy, reducing rework, and supporting efficient downstream construction workflows.
PROJECT SUPPORT: AS BUILT REVIT MODELING
An as-built Revit model was created for the Spencer’s Mill Building in Mount Airy from high-resolution laser scan data to support its adaptive reuse as The Balladeer Hotel (2026). The design, led by Rowhouse Architects, integrates the existing mill structure and elevated sky-bridges into a boutique hospitality program.
The project scope included processing point cloud data and developing a detailed Revit model representing existing conditions of the multi-level masonry building and connecting structures. This model established an accurate baseline for coordination, enabling informed design decisions and reducing risk during renovation and construction phases.
PROJECT SUPPORT: AS-BUILT REVIT MODELING
Read | Thomas was selected by Amy Wellness Group to scan, document, and model an existing property in Burnsville, NC. Located near the heart of town, the building began as a residential home before evolving through multiple additions over time. Where it later operated as a dry goods and general store prior to its recent acquisition.
Our team completed a full laser scan of the structure and developed an accurate as-built Revit model that captures both the original home and its subsequent expansions. The resulting model provides a clear understanding of existing conditions and serves as the foundation for its planned conversion into workforce housing.
PROJECT SUPPORT: AS-BUILT REVIT MODELING
Read | Thomas partnered with Rowhouse Architects to scan, document, and model an existing pharmacy and adjacent theater property in Bessemer City. Located along the town’s historic main corridor, the two buildings have long served as local landmarks and are now being re-positioned for a new chapter as workforce housing.
Our team completed comprehensive laser scans of both structures and developed accurate as-built Revit models that reflect existing layouts, structural conditions, and the connection points between the buildings. These models provide the design team with a clear understanding of the buildings as they stand today and establish a reliable foundation for renovation planning and adaptive reuse.
PROJECT SUPPORT: AS-BUILT REVIT MODELING
Read | Thomas completed an as-built Revit model of the historic May and Gorham Drug Store, a two-story corner commercial building located in downtown Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Built in the early 1900s, the building features characteristic deep red brick masonry, arched window and storefront openings, corbelled brick cornice detailing, and an intact historic pharmacy interior complete with original cast iron columns, built-in apothecary shelving, and a period soda fountain counter.
Our scope included a comprehensive as-built Revit model capturing the building envelope, structural elements, interior layout, and historic architectural details across both floors — providing the owner and preservation team with an accurate foundation for future renovation planning and historic documentation.
